Thanks for joining us at 2Gethers! My name is Laura Gethers, and my husband Andre and I have set out on a blogging adventure to document our life and travel. For travel specifically, we find it rejuvenating, and it draws us closer together without the distractions of daily life.
We first met while I was visiting his branch on a business trip, and obviously, we hit it off 😉 After a lot of long distance travel since we lived in different cities, we finally settled down in Pittsburgh. Our marriage took place at Phipps Conservatory in August 2016 #2Gethers4Ever. Andre has three adult children, one granddaughter, and we live with my rescued Cocker Spaniel, Tate, who tags along on most of our adventures.
Once the long distance relationship came to a close, we realized how much we enjoyed traveling with one another and having that opportunity to rest mentally, physically, and emotionally. Our first goal was hitting all 50 states together, which we reached in 2019. During these trips, we’ve met some awesome people, spent quality time with family and friends, and had the chance to explore God’s creation.
On the blog, you will find our recommendations and experiences for travel in the US as well as abroad. We will discuss topics such as our favorite food-finds, pet-friendly walking areas, and attractions. Other areas of the blog will cover our transportation and lodging tips, features locations including tips from willing friends and family, and deals from our favorite brands. This blog allows us to share our interests with those we love, and provides a platform for those who aren’t on social media as well.
This may be a hefty assumption, but we believe most people enjoy traveling; however, our goal is to provide inspiration for those trips as well as motivation for those who do not always enjoy traveling. Travel encourages us to explore new cultures, gain different perspectives, and reflect for growth. It also provides us the opportunity to dive into scripture, discuss our hopes, and share our passion for travel. This blog is our digital memory bank, which may be helpful for others on similar quests, and we hope to discover new ideas from our readers with it as well. See ya out there on the next road trip!
