Whistler, British Columbia

We did a mini road trip here from Vancouver while we were waiting to leave on our Alaskan cruise. It is by far our top recommendation if you fly into Vancouver. Even though it is a couple hours outside of the city, it is filled with gorgeous peaks and the road to get there is along an incomparable waterway.

Most people visit Whistler for its skiing; however, having done both, the summer options are outstanding. They open up a suspension bridge at the highest point called the Peak, which takes around 3 hours round-trip using the gondolas, including one with a glass bottom. The views are obviously out of this world, and the walk across the bridge is like nothing we’ve ever experienced. You’ll also get a chance to see the Olympic Rings at the top!

Once you have explored the peaks, you can make your way back down to the adorable town with upscale shopping and yummy gelato. They have some turquoise lakes surrounding the ski town that are quite a sight to see as well. Don’t miss this on your trip to British Columbia.
